Available Cotton Rare
With regard to the demand of the local spinning mills, not much has changed compared to the week before. Interest existed still for nearby deliveries - both in medium as well as in fine/extra fine varieties. Since the availabilities here were virtually exhausted, only smaller quantities could be traded for these dates. Furthermore, sales were registered for the nearest available growths from the new crop for earliest shipment respectively loading.
In the Upland range contracts were concluded in Central Asian sorts for prompt and for dates in the 4th quarter 2010 and in the 1st quarter 2011; West African styles for the same dates; Greek and Spanish descriptions for the 4th quarter 2010; Syrian cotton for end of the 3rd and 4th quarter 2010, and Brazil cotton for the 4th quarter 2010.
In the fine/extra fine range were traded Egyptian GIZA 86 and 88, Israel Pima and Sudan Barakat for prompt and until 4th quarter 2010.
