Cotton Prices Continued to Soar
The cotton quotations continued to soar also during the week under report. There was obviously no way to inhibit the upswing. Repeatedly was limit up and afterwards higher in the internet trade. Enquiries for cotton were limited to prompt delivery and not exceeding dates in the first quarter 2011 to cover the most needed demand. Transactions in the medium staple range for the local market were reported as follows: Central Asian sorts for prompt and for the first quarter 2011; West African styles for dates in the fourth quarter 2010 and for the first quarter 2011; Spanish cotton for end of 2010 and Syrian for the fourth quarter 2010.
