Bremen Cotton Market

Short Term Demand Hardly to Cover

Cotton merchants reported about mill demand for both, medium staple as well as fine/extra fine cottons for delivery until the end of the year. However not all enquiries could be fulfilled. Main reason was the lack of cotton and partly also the firm prices for available lots. Few contracts were also concluded for shipments resp. deliveries during the first half year 2011.

In the Upland range were traded: Central Asian, West African, and Syrian cotton for end of 3rd quarter and 4th quarter 2010; West African, Spanish and Greek cottons for the 1st and 2nd quarter 2011.

In the fine/extra fine range contracts came into being for Sudan Barakat; GIZA 86 and 88, as well as Israel Pima for September / October 2010; USA Pima and Israel Pima also for dates in the 1st and 2nd quarter 2011.
