[Dow Jones] Cotton futures plunged by the exchange-allowed maximum, reversing
an equally dramatic increase the day before. Concerns about China's efforts to
hold down price inflation are scaring investors out of the market, leaving a
thinner, and more volatile market. The Dec contract settled down 6 cents, or
4.5%, at $1.2790 a pound.
