1534 EDT [Dow Jones] - ICE cotton futures rallied to new 15-year highs
Thursday on continued speculative fund buying, spurred by weekly 2010-11 export
sales that were impressive at 588,200 running bales. An additional 256,000
bales were sold for the 2011-12 crop year. Volume is pegged at 19,000
contracts, with 9,495 calls and 8,017 put options traded. Most active Dec
cotton rose 2.14 cents, or 2.3%, to 95.76 cents a pound, setting a new high of
96.49 cents.
