Dec 6 (Reuters) - Cotton arrivals in India in 2010/11 season declined to 7.02 million bales as on Dec. 5 from 7.2 million bales a year ago due to unseasonal rains, state-run Cotton Corp of India said on its website on Monday.
Indian cotton exporters are likely to ship less than half the 5.5 million bales allowed in the 2010/11 season, a senior government official said last month, which could tighten the global supply situation. [ID:nSGE6AT069]
India is likely to produce more than 33 million bales of cotton in 2010/11, sharply higher than last year's 29.5 million bales, industry officials said. (1 bale= 170 kg)
