Syngenta grants Bayer Cropscience GM cotton licence

ZURICH, July 14 (Reuters) - Syngenta, the world's largest agrochemicals company, said it had granted Bayer CropScience a worldwide non-exclusive licence for its VIPCOT genetically modified cotton.

The GM cotton has insecticidal traits that combat cotton pests like cotton bollworm and tobacco budworm, Syngenta said on Wednesday.

Syngenta, which makes herbicides and insecticides as well as GM seeds, did not give financial details of the deal with Bayer CropScience, a unit of German company Bayer focused on agrochemicals.
