U.S. EXPORT SALES FOR WEEKENDING 04/22/2010

Cotton:  Net Upland sales of 171,900 running bales for delivery in 2009/10 were down 51 percent from the previous week and 33 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Turkey (66,700 RB, including 7,300 RB switched from China), Pakistan (25,300 RB), Bangladesh (19,800 RB), China (19,500 RB), and Mexico (18,000 RB).  Decreases were reported for Vietnam (3,100 RB), Chile (400 RB), and Honduras (300 RB).  Net sales of 39,600 RB for delivery in 2010/11 were mainly for Thailand (10,200 RB), Indonesia (6,400 RB), and South Korea (6,100 RB).  Exports of 275,300 RB were down 17 percent from the previous week and 1 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (87,700 RB), Turkey (66,200 RB), Mexico (31,200 RB), Pakistan (18,900 RB), Indonesia (15,600 RB), and Thailand (11,700 RB).  Net American Pima sales of 3,300 RB were down 39 percent from the previous week and 17 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Pakistan (2,200 RB), China (500 RB), Indonesia (300 RB, switched from Japan), and Honduras (300 RB).  There were no sales reported for delivery in 2010/11.  Exports of 10,000 RB were up 8 percent from the previous week, but down 16 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Indonesia (3,200 RB), India (2,900 RB), Egypt (1,400 RB), and China (800 RB).
