U.S. EXPORT SALES FOR WEEKENDING 04/29/2010

Cotton:  Net Upland sales of 165,800 running bales for delivery in 2009/10 were down 4 percent from the previous week and 33 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Turkey (58,600 RB), Pakistan (26,100 RB), China (18,500 RB), Bangladesh (15,000 RB), and Thailand (11,400 RB, including 300 RB switched from Japan).  Decreases were reported for South Korea (900 RB) and Guatemala (200 RB).  Net sales of 109,400 RB for delivery in 2010/11 were mainly for unknown destinations (50,000 RB), Guatemala (22,200 RB), and El Salvador (18,000 RB).  Exports of 221,900 RB were down 19 percent from the previous week and 20 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (55,100 RB), Turkey (49,600 RB), Mexico (25,000 RB), Thailand (14,400 RB), Bangladesh (13,400 RB), and Indonesia (10,700 RB).  Net American Pima sales of 3,400 RB were up 3 percent from the previous week and 29 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Pakistan (2,400 RB), Indonesia (500 RB), and Italy (400 RB).  Decreases were reported for Japan (100 RB).  Net sales of 6,600 RB for delivery in 2010/11 were for South Korea.  Exports of 4,300 RB were down 57 percent from the previous week and 62 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were India (1,500 RB), Japan (900 RB), Indonesia (600 RB), and China (500 RB).
