U.S. EXPORT SALES FOR WEEKENDING 08/26/2010

Cotton:  Net Upland sales of 245,800 running bales were down 48 percent from the previous week.  Increases were reported for South Korea (36,900 RB), Brazil (31,100 RB), Turkey (24,400 RB), Thailand (21,700 RB), Mexico (21,400 RB), Japan (19,300 RB), and China (16,100 RB).  Decreases were reported for Hong Kong (100 RB).  Net sales of 17,600 RB for delivery in 2011/12 were for Japan (9,200 RB), Guatemala (7,500 RB), and Mexico (900 RB).  Exports for own account were reported for China (14,300 RB) and Turkey (3,700 RB).  Exports of 219,600 RB were down 9 percent from the previous week and 21 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (77,900 RB), Mexico (37,400 RB), Turkey (27,100 RB), and Bangladesh (11,300 RB).  Net American Pima sales of 6,400 RB were down 53 percent from the previous week.  Increases were primarily for Peru (2,000 RB), India (1,300 RB), China (900 RB), Germany (900 RB), and Pakistan (500 RB).  Exports of 1,700 RB were up 61 percent from the previous week.  The destinations were to Germany (900 RB), China (400 RB), and India (100 RB).
