U.S. EXPORT SALES FOR WEEKENDING 2/11/2010

Cotton:  Net Upland sales of 360,500 running bales for delivery in 2009/10 were down 21 percent from the previous week and 19 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (185,300 RB), Turkey (33,700 RB, including 7,300 RB switched from China), Mexico (26,900 RB), and Bangladesh (26,800 RB).  Decreases were reported for El Salvador (1,400 RB).  Net sales reductions of 32,900 RB for delivery in 2010/11 resulted as increases for Thailand (7,100 RB) were more than offset by decreases for Mexico (40,000 RB). Exports of 206,800 RB were up 19 percent from the previous week and 11 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (54,300 RB), Turkey (31,100 RB), Vietnam (31,100 RB), Mexico (30,200 RB), and Thailand (15,300 RB).  Net American Pima sales of 12,900 RB were up 41 percent from the previous week and 42 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were primarily for India (4,700 RB), China (4,000 RB), and Pakistan (3,900 RB).  There were no sales reported for delivery in 2010/11.  Exports of 11,900 RB were down 46 percent from the previous week and 43 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (6,500 RB), Taiwan (2,000 RB), Germany (1,300 RB), and India (1,000 RB).
