U.S. EXPORT SALES FOR WEEKENDING 7/29/2010

Cotton:  Net Upland sales of 36,500 running bales for delivery in 2009/10 were up noticeably from the previous week, but down 54 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases reported for China (27,700 RB, including 300 RB switched from South Korea and decreases of 12,200 RB), Indonesia (5,300 RB), Turkey (4,000 RB), and Colombia (2,400 RB, including 1,800 RB switched from South Korea), were partially offset by decreases for Venezuela (1,700 RB), South Korea (1,400 RB), and Japan (1,200 RB).  Net sales of 172,500 RB for delivery in 2010/11 were mainly for China (53,300 RB), Thailand (40,700 RB), Mexico (36,600 RB), Pakistan (7,300 RB), and Indonesia (7,000 RB).  Decreases were reported for Turkey (700 RB).  Exports for own account were reported for China (2,500 RB).  Exports of 355,900 RB were up 17 percent from the previous week and 23 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (150,600 RB), Turkey (58,800 RB), Mexico (27,300 RB), Bangladesh (20,700 RB), and Peru (13,400 RB).  Net American Pima sales reductions of 800 RB resulted as increases for India (500 RB), were more than offset by decreases for China (1,400 RB).  Net sales of 11,200 RB for delivery in 2010/11 were mainly for Pakistan (6,400 RB) and India (4,300 RB).  Exports of 3,300 RB were up noticeably from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (1,900 RB), India (900 RB), and Japan (300 RB).
