Quality control laboratory with two HVI instruments and separate room for visual classification

The correct classification of the ginned cotton that is to be sold, is one of the main requirements for the buyer

Thrakika Ekkokkistiria has developed its own classification system which is constantly being improved.

During the 1990s, the company became the first ginning mill on a global level to install a full HVI quality control laboratory, which has been in operation ever since. 100% of our cotton bales pass through quality control at this laboratory.

After the bales are tested at the laboratory, they are classified in categories based on their quality characteristics, and are placed in the warehouse according to their category. These category groups inform contracts with buyers as well as subsequent shipments.

The laboratory is undergoing certification process by ICA Bremen, which in collaboration with USDA is the only body granting such certifications. Globally, only 11 laboratories are certified.

Since September 2019, company's quality control laboratory consists of two instruments (Uster HVI900SA and Uster HVI1000-M1000), as well as a separate room, suitable for visual classification of the cotton.
