Bremen Cotton Market

A- A+

Considerably buying interest

During the reported week the raw cotton price indices remained quite stable. The rising prices for competing agricultural commodities have had so far no influence on the cotton market. Outside of Europe spinning mills were still active to cover import needs until access to the new crops. In contrast the domestic market was most of all influenced by company holidays. Despite a generally speaking calm business the processing industry had still some buying interest for available origins for prompt deliveries to fill up stocks and to cover for production in September and October.

The following proveniences and dates were traded in the medium staple range:Central Asia for prompt delivery, Brazil for prompt and the 3rd quarter 2012, West Africa for prompt and the 4th quarter 2012 as well as qualities from Greece andUS EMOT for the 4th quarter 2012.

The ELS-market registered purchases of Israel Acalpi for prompt delivery and US Pima as well as Israel Pimafor delivery prompt up to the 4th quarter 2012.
