China Faces 'Rare' Delays in Cotton Planting on Cold Weather

April 22 (Bloomberg) -- Planting of cotton crops in China, the world’s biggest consumer, has been delayed by more than 10 days because of unusual cold temperatures, a state-backed research body said.

Planting of cotton this year faces adverse conditions and some areas have seen “historically rare” delays, the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences said in a statement carried on the Web site of the China Cotton Association.
