1512 EDT [Dow Jones]--ICE cotton futures edged lower Wednesday, after a
choppy session in which soft commodities met modest selling pressure. Cotton
recovered from worse-than-expected economic data, helped as equities lifted off
session lows, to trade in positive territory for a time. Pakistan mills will
import Indian cotton to make up for a shortfall caused by devastating floods,
Pakistani cotton officials say. Pakistan's production is seen being cut by 16%,
government officials say, while Indian output improves with an increase in
monsoon rains. Most active Dec cotton on ICE lost 0.36 cent, or 0.42%, to 84.86
cents a pound.
