Cotton: Net Upland sales of 84,000 running bales for delivery in 2009/10 were down 71 percent from the previous week and 75 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for China (32,900 RB), Turkey (11,400 RB), Bangladesh (10,400 RB), Thailand (8,300 RB), and Peru (4,700 RB), were partially offset by decreases for El Salvador (2,800 RB). Net sales of 172,200 RB for delivery in 2010/11 were mainly for Morocco (36,000 RB), Malaysia (33,100 RB), Turkey (32,900 RB), and Thailand (24,700 RB). Decreases were reported for El Salvador (4,500 RB) and Vietnam (2,700 RB). Exports for own account were reported for China (3,600 RB). Exports of 311,300 RB were up 20 percent from the previous week and 13 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were China (77,400 RB), Turkey (68,500 RB), Mexico (35,100 RB), Bangladesh (22,900 RB), Indonesia (17,000 RB), and Thailand (16,300 RB). Net American Pima sales of 400 RB were down 77 percent from the previous week and 61 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were primarily for Indonesia (300 RB). Net sales of 200 RB for delivery in 2010/11 were for Japan. Exports of 5,700 RB were up 15 percent from the previous week and 52 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Japan (3,000 RB), Peru (1,000 RB), India (700 RB), and Pakistan (700 RB).
