Report Highlights:
Greece’s MY 2026/27 cotton production is forecast at 950 thousand bales, down 6.8 percent from the previous season due to lower planting.
Rising production input costs and low cotton prices may favor alternative crops such as sunflower and corn.
Despite lower global demand, Greece remains a major cotton exporter and registered 1,074 million bales in 2025.
With a declining domestic spinning industry, Greek farmers and ginners continue to seek foreign market destinations to generate sales.
