Press Release

Today, September 10, 2007, an agreement between Bayer CropScience and Thrakika Ekkokkistiria S.A was announced for the commencement of «FiberMax Certification» program for the running ginning cotton period.

This act is a continuation of the certification program in a region that traditionally produces qualitative cotton, where FiberMax varieties continuously increase their presence.
The «FiberMax Certification» program, as it is described in the booklets and in the website FiberMax.com.gr, is a world wide effort of Bayer CropScience for the recognition of qualitative cotton produced by the FiberMax varieties. Through the «FiberMax Certification» program, marketing and trading of Greek qualitative cotton is promoted and the presence of FiberMax varieties in the international market is enhanced.

Bayer CropScience, following the new era in the global cotton market map and contemplating the new challenges that all cotton chain stakeholders have to face (cotton producers, ginning enterprises, spinning mills, clothing industries) is aiming at the exploitation of new opportunities and business ways in favor of the interested parties in cotton production, through agricultural products marketing services.

Common aim of all interested parties in the « FiberMax Certification » program is the maximum satisfaction of market demands and, on the other hand, the creation of added value in the productive chain towards the distribution and promotion of branded and qualitative products, at the most demanding markets of European Union and Far East.

Practically, through the « FiberMax Certification» program, Greece, as a country with large cotton production, is being given the opportunity to get a new identity regarding the domestic quality cotton and to be re-established in the international market with greater negotiatory strength and capability, maximizing the benefits of the specific export activity.
