Extra-Long Staple Cotton on Focus 

Just like during the previous reported week, there was only limited turnover. In contrast to the slightly more active business Far East, turnover on the domestic market was still influenced by the holidays of the spinning industry to a large extent. Most currently necessary amounts had already been bought before the company holidays. Besides for the time being, the industry has kept its wait-and-see-attitude due to the price development of the futures. Only single contracts were closed for prompt delivery. Enquiries for medium staple cotton mostly served as price indicator while there was slightly more interest as well as a few more closed contracts in the extra-long staple range anticipating limited availability and rising prices by trend.
