Demand Growth
A slight demand growth was registered in the Upland-range during the reported week. The LS/ELS-business developed as well as during the previous two weeks. Cotton from many origins was still ordered for prompt delivery in December. Prices have often remained stable and showed a firmer tendency only sometimes.
The following contracts were closed:
• In the medium staple range: Central Asiandescriptions were ordered for the 1st quarter 2013, cotton from West Africa as well as US E.M.O.T.. for prompt andGreek and Spanish cotton for prompt up to the 2nd quarter 2013.
• Long- and extra-long staple cotton: US Pima was sold for prompt delivery. Egyptian Giza 86 and Giza 88 as well as US Pima and Israel Pimawere traded for prompt up to the 1st quarter 2013.
