Cotton harvest started in TurkmenistanΆs Ahal, Lebap and Mary provinces, and it is planned to start the harvest in the province of Dashoguz on Sept. 6, said the Turkmen state concern, Turkmenpagta.

This year, the countryΆs farmers undertake to harvest 1.05 million metric tons of cotton, as they did last year.

Cotton is a weighty part TurkmenistanΆs export and is in demand as raw material for tens of modern enterprises dynamically developing in the countryΆs textile industry.

Ashgabat annually hosts an international trade fair of cotton products of Turkmenistan.
