The Apparel Export Council of Egypt (AECE) has set a target of a record $4.4 billion in garment exports for 2026, underpinned by a wave of Chinese and Turkish investment in new manufacturing capacity.
Chair Fadel Marzouk says the goal requires growth of 22% on 2025, when exports surpassed $3 billion for the first time, driven largely by expansions at existing Egyptian factories.
The forecast hinges on integrated textile and apparel complexes now under development in the Suez Canal Economic Zone’s West Qantara hub, including Zhejiang Jasan’s $100 million project and Everfar Textile Egypt’s $130 million export‑oriented plant.
Additional investments by Changzhou Kingcason, Shanghai Honour Home Textile and Turkey’s Orağlu and Boni are expected to feed directly into export growth from 2026–27. Cairo ultimately aims to lift annual textile exports to $11.5 billion by 2030.
