ICE cotton futures fell to their lowest level in over a week on Thursday as a lackluster export sales report and broader market weakness weighed on sentiment.

* Cotton contracts for March (CTH6) fell 0.19 cent, or 0.3%, at 64.27 cents per lb at 11:11 a.m. ET (16:11 GMT). The contract fell to its lowest level since November 26 earlier in the day.

* "The stock market's a little weaker and the export sales report didn't show anything too terribly exciting, so I think cotton is just kind of caught in the range right now," said Jack Scoville, vice president at Price Futures Group adding, "we could head back towards the lows around 63 cents."

* Wall Street's main indexes fluctuated between small gains and losses as investors analyzed a fresh round of labor market data to fine-tune expectations for a much-anticipated Federal Reserve rate cut next week.

* Markets are currently pricing in an 87% chance of a rate cut next week, as per the CME FedWatch Tool.

* Usually when the global economy strengthens, the textile industry follows trend, boosting demand for cotton and raising its prices.

* Earlier today, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) released its weekly cotton export sales report for the week ending October 30, showing net sales of 81,500 running bales (rb) in 2025/26, down from the prior week's 132,800, and new sales of 83,100 rb.

* Investors now look ahead at the USDA's upcoming weekly export sales report, due on December 8, and the World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates (WASDE) report, set to release on December 9, to help better gauge demand for the natural fiber.

* Meanwhile, Chicago soybean futures inched up, steadying after a three-day fall with support from a weaker dollar, while traders sought more indications about Chinese purchases of U.S. soy.
