Consistent fiber quality. Verified performance. Reliable supply.
Greek cotton has earned an excellent reputation around the world for its fiber quality. It is recognised for its strength, cleanliness and spinning performance, making it a preferred choice for mills seeking high-quality raw material.
Today, however, origin alone is no longer enough.
Modern spinning mills operate in an increasingly demanding environment, where consistency, traceability and predictable fiber performance are just as important as the fiber itself. Production efficiency depends not only on the average quality of a shipment, but on the uniformity of every bale entering the spinning process.
At Thrakika Ekkokistiria, this philosophy guides every stage of our operation.
Our objective is not simply to produce Greek cotton.
Our objective is to deliver cotton that performs consistently — shipment after shipment.
Quality starts long before ginning
Consistent fiber quality cannot be achieved inside the gin alone.
It begins in the field, through the careful selection of cotton varieties, close cooperation with growers and continuous monitoring throughout the growing season. This philosophy is reflected in Cotton+, our long-standing grower partnership programme, through which we have been working with cotton producers to improve fiber quality for more than ten years.
It continues during harvesting, transportation, ginning, laboratory testing and storage.
Every stage influences the final quality of the lint cotton delivered to our customers.
By controlling the entire process, we are able to produce cotton that offers predictable performance and reliable processing characteristics for demanding spinning mills worldwide.
Superior Fiber Characteristics
The quality of our cotton is measured, verified and compared against both regional and national production.
Based on the last five crop years (2021–2025), Thrakika Ekkokistiria consistently outperformed both the average of the Thrace region and the overall Greek crop in key HVI fiber characteristics.

Our results demonstrate a clear advantage in the production of premium white colour grades while maintaining excellent fiber length and strength.
Quality Highlights
- 66% White Colour Grades (21-31-41)
- 61% of production with UHML greater than 29 mm
- 77% of production with Strength above 30 g/tex
Data based on crop years 2021–2025.
Leading in White Colour Grades
Among all fiber quality parameters, colour grade remains one of the most important indicators of cotton value.
Cleaner, brighter cotton contributes to improved processing efficiency and supports the production of high-quality yarns.
Over the last five crop years, Thrakika Ekkokistiria has consistently achieved a substantially higher percentage of premium white colour grades than both the regional and national averages.

2.4× Higher
Share of premium white colour grades compared with the Greek average (2021–2025).
This consistent performance is not the result of a single favourable season. It reflects a long-term commitment to quality, from variety selection and harvesting practices to fiber preservation throughout the ginning process.
Why does Region (Thrace) produce more white color grades than the rest of Greece?
Mainly because Thrakika Ekkokkistiria receives and processes more than 1/3 of the region's cotton.
Quality You Can Verify
Producing quality is important.
Verifying it is equally important.
ICA Bremen Certified Laboratory
Operating two Uster HVI 1000 systems, our ICA Bremen Certified laboratory combines internationally recognised testing standards with the capacity required to perform HVI testing on 100% of our production.
Driven by our constant commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, the certification of our laboratory by ICA Bremen acts as a global recognition of the quality and reliability of our services.
As of June 2026, only 12 laboratories worldwide have been certified by ICA Bremen.
100% Bale Testing
Unlike sampling-based approaches, every single bale is individually tested and classified.
No sampling.
No estimation.
No assumptions.
Every purchasing decision can therefore be based on complete and verified fiber quality information.
Certified Cotton Programmes
In addition to comprehensive HVI testing, we offer cotton produced under internationally recognised certification programmes, allowing our customers to meet specific sourcing and sustainability requirements.
Better Cotton (BCI)
Cotton sourced through the Better Cotton chain of custody supports responsible cotton production while providing spinning mills with access to one of the world's most widely recognised sustainability initiatives.
Certified FiberMax
Produced from selected FiberMax varieties under the Certified FiberMax programme, this cotton combines superior fiber characteristics with traceability from field to gin.
Quality You Can Preserve
Maintaining fiber quality after production is just as critical as producing it.
For this reason, every bale produced by Thrakika Ekkokistiria is stored indoors, fully protected from rain, humidity and adverse weather conditions.
Across our four production facilities, more than 45,000 m² of covered warehouse space ensure that cotton quality is preserved until shipment.
The result is consistent fiber condition and dependable product quality throughout the entire storage period.
Built Around Our Customers
Every spinning mill has different production requirements.
Our operating philosophy is designed to provide flexibility while maintaining consistency.
Bale-to-Bale Consistency
Uniform fiber characteristics minimise variability during spinning and improve production stability.
Separate Lot Management
Lots are processed and stored separately, preserving fiber homogeneity and allowing customers to purchase cotton with clearly defined quality characteristics.
Custom Blending Capability
Where required, blends can be prepared according to customer specifications, providing fiber characteristics tailored to individual spinning requirements.
More Than Cotton
At Thrakika Ekkokistiria, we do not simply supply Greek cotton.
We supply consistency.
We supply transparency.
We supply confidence.
Every bale we deliver represents a commitment to measurable quality, verified performance and long-term partnerships with spinning mills around the world.
Because our customers are not simply buying cotton.
They are investing in consistent performance.
